hi my name is Richard Crowe and I teach AP Computer is principals here at Cerritos High School AP Computer Science principles is all about exploration of the course of operation the opportunity to find out whether or not first computer science Computer Engineering anything of that nature is something that's interesting to them that they might want to pursue in college but at the same time really it's also for everybody who's interested in what major science is about how we use it to do that like design apps for cell phones write desktop applications and I expect students to be doing exactly that in the course they're going to be actually creating things are going to be exploring what computer science is about and how it's used in the real world for AP Computer Science principles I expect students to actually be doing a lot of software development make it to make things I get to actually test things out on this actually means my this expectation is that honestly if they're carrying Class A lot of what we do requires materials that here in class so the majority of the work is stuff that they do Hands-On here building things for a cheap computer science principles the prerequisites are actually a little open the real only one is basically math 1 I have a lot of sophomores currently taking computer science principles it's a really wonderful opportunity for anybody who's interested kind of wherever they're at it requires no prerequisite holding experience of any kind it's everybody can jump in everybody can try it on everybody can find out what it's about AP Computer Science principles is actually very quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite classes to teach mainly because it's so open to everybody it's an opportunity to find out what computer science computer programming computer engineering cheap always different fields that are in life high demand right now to find out what they're about even have students who take the class you have no intention of taking are actually going into one of those majors in college but they want to know what is it about in like how does splatter things like for example my cell phone
